What is Sudoku?
Sudoku, sometimes spelled Su Doku, is a placement puzzle, that has become a nationwide phenomenon in Japan, England, and the United States. The aim of the Sudoku puzzle game is to enter a number from 1 through 9 in each cell of a grid, most frequently a 9 x 9 grid made up of 3 x 3 subgrids, starting with various numbers given in some cells. Each row, column and region must contain only one instance of each number. The goal is to fill in the empty cells, one numeral in each, so that each column, row, and region contains the numerals 1 - 9 exactly once. Each numeral in the solution therefore occurs only once in each of three "directions", hence the "single numbers" implied by the puzzle's name.
Is there an easier explanaion for the Sudoku game?
